The Dolphin announces nominated charities for 2025-2026
For the past several years, The Dolphin has chosen specific local charities to support causes that are near to their team’s hearts. For 2025 & 2026, The Dolphin has chosen to partner with two local charities that work for the good of young people: Mosaic – Supporting Bereaved Children and MYTime Young Carers.
MYTime Young Carers aims to level the playing field for young carers between the ages of 5 and 25. An estimated 1,000,000 young carers are living in the UK, many of whom receive little to no support from their schools or the local authorities.
Krista Cartlidge, CEO of MYTime Young Carers said, “We are absolutely thrilled to announce our two-year partnership with The Dolphin. It’s been fantastic to see plans already taking shape and to witness just how attentive and proactive they are in their support for young carers. Their enthusiasm and creative fundraising ideas show a real commitment to making a difference, and we can’t wait to see the impact we can create together!”

Mosaic also works to support young people and their families, offering support to those who are going through bereavement in Dorset. The work Mosaic does is much-needed, as approximately 78% of 11-16 year olds will experience the death of a close relative or friend.
Jo Revill, CEO of Mosaic said, “Mosaic – Supporting Bereaved Children are thrilled to be in partnership with The Dolphin for the next two years. This will make a huge difference to the children and young people we support all over Dorset. Our families and supporters will be able to enjoy the opportunities The Dolphin can offer whilst helping us to raise awareness of the work Mosaic does.”
The Dolphin team recently met with Jenny Diffey, Fundraising Coordinator at Mosaic, and Tim Sills and Callie Johnson from MYTime Young Carers, to discuss initial ideas and officially launch the partnership.
John Grinnell, Centre Manager for The Dolphin said, “It’s a great privilege to be in a position to support local charities with our time and resources, including the provision of physical space inside The Dolphin.
“We have chosen to support MYTime Young Carers and Mosaic for 2025-2026 as we feel that all young people deserve an equal chance to succeed and thrive, no matter their circumstances. We’re proud to invest in the lives of young people, as the future of our town depends on the next generation.
“We’re looking forward to a fruitful partnership with both charities, supporting their fundraising and awareness efforts however we can.”
Throughout 2023 and 2024, The Dolphin supported Diverse Abilities and Margaret Green Animal Rescue via staff volunteering and public fundraising events.
The Dolphin’s GATHER space was utilized throughout the year by Diverse Abilities, to host various community fundraising events, including a Lego Walk (May 2024) and a Christmas gift wrapping service (December 2024).
Margaret Green Animal Rescue also benefited from a pet food donation station situated inside The Dolphin, where visitors were encouraged to donate dry and wet food, toys, and treats. The donation station is set to remain on the mall floor for the rest of 2025.
