KINGLAND in Poole: Vintage, Coffee and the Independent Corner of The Dolphin

Every town needs a corner that is not the same as everywhere else. In Poole that corner is KINGLAND.

It sits inside The Dolphin, and it is where the independents are. Smaller units, owners behind the counter, stock that somebody actually chose rather than a buying team in another city.

Loope Vintage Fashion is the one people tell their friends about. Genuine vintage rather than reproduction, which matters once the weather turns, because old knitwear and old coats were made heavier than most of what you can buy new at the same price.

Coffee worth sitting down for

Grounded Coffee is in KINGLAND and is the answer to the question of where to go when you need ten minutes and a proper flat white rather than a paper cup on the move.

Gifts, jewellery and the well chosen thing

Lavender Moon and Onyx is where to head when you need a present for somebody with taste and you have left it slightly late. Access Wellbeing is also in KINGLAND if you are after something more considered than a scented candle.

Foundry is our creative space, and worth putting your head round the door of even if you are not sure what you are looking for. It is the sort of place where you go in for nothing and come out with an idea.

On at GATHER this week

Poole Leisure Painters are with us from Wednesday 7 to Sunday 11 October, painting in the space across five days. Come and watch, or ask them how they got started.

The Poetry Reading Group meets in Poole Library on Saturday 10 October. If you enjoy reading poetry out loud with other people, or listening while other people do, you are welcome.

Looking just ahead, Craftaholics Makers Market is back at GATHER on Wednesday 14 October, 10am to 3pm, with handmade jewellery, cards, bags and cushions from local makers.
