Poole Maritime Trust was created in 1974 to preserve the history of Poole Harbour, its people, surroundings and industries. The Trust organises regular maritime lectures and visits, as well as social events, archaeological digs and subsea exploration with an underwater ROV (remotely operated underwater vehicle). It is a registered non-profit making charity and a consultative group with all things concerning Poole Harbour. Poole Maritime Trust also holds a comprehensive archive of photographs, films and books and ephemera relating to Poole’s extensive maritime history.
