BCP local and autism activist, Arsenal Whittick, is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the most people hugged in 60 seconds. The current record is 88 people, which means we’ll need 90+ volunteers to break it!
Arsenal was diagnosed with autism at the age of 49, and has struggled with all forms of physical contact for most of his life. This will be Arsenal’s toughest challenge yet, as he attempts to hug 90+ people in just 60 seconds.
Show your support and sign up for a hug from Arsenal on the 19th January! Let’s be part of making history.
Arsenal Whittick was diagnosed with autism at the age of 49. For most of his life, Arsenal has struggled with all forms of physical contact, even with his daughters. Since his diagnosis, has been dedicated to raising awareness of autism and the profound effects it can have on someone’s life.
To break the record, Arsenal will need to hug 90+ different people in just 60 seconds. Register your interest and arrive at The Dolphin Poole before 1pm. Once the timer starts, participants will need to run to Arsenal, have a quick hug and promptly move out of the way for the next person.
Anyone can sign up, as long as they are able to move quickly – as speed is very important in this challenge! For the record attempt to be valid, Arsenal has to stay standing in one place whilst the participants run to him.
As we’ve got just 60 seconds on the clock, it may take several attempts to break the record.
