What's On in Poole This March: Events at GATHER

If you’re looking for things to do in Poole this March, you’re in the right place. GATHER at The Dolphin is the free community event space right in the heart of Poole town centre. This month it’s full to the brim with workshops, exhibitions, markets and community events that are genuinely worth your time.

Whether you’re planning a family day out, want to discover something new or just fancy popping in to see what’s on, there’s something here for you. Best of all? Every event listed is free to attend unless otherwise stated.

Here’s everything coming up at GATHER throughout March.

Craftaholics Makers Market | Tues 3rd & Wed 4th March, 10am –3pm

Kick off the month with the Craftaholics Makers Market. This is one of those events that feels genuinely good to walk around. Local makers set up stalls showcasing handcrafted jewellery, cards, bags, cushions, pictures, crochet and patchwork. Everything is designed and made right here in Poole.

There’s something psychologically satisfying about buying from the person who actually made the thing you’re holding. Makers markets tap into that perfectly. You leave with something beautiful and a story behind it.

If you’re searching for unique gifts in Poole or want to support local independent makers, this is the one. Drop in any time across both days.

Poole in Bloom | Thurs 5th & Fri 6th March, 10am –4pm

Spring is almost here and Poole in Bloom is bringing it indoors first. Two of Poole’s biggest gardening organisations are taking over GATHER with displays, demonstrations, a children’s sunflower planting activity and free expert advice for gardeners of all levels.

Getting your hands in the soil is genuinely good for you. Research into nature connectedness consistently shows that even small interactions with plants and growing things reduce stress and improve mood. The children’s sunflower planting is a lovely way to get little ones involved.

Free to attend and perfect if you’re looking for family activities in Poole or want to pick up some gardening tips ahead of the season.

ONCE? Bridal Sustainability Exhibition by Tailoresque | Sat 7th & Sun 8th March, 10am –4pm

This one is something a bit different. Tailoresque brings their ONCE? exhibition to GATHER over the weekend. It’s a beautiful collection of upcycled and reworked wedding dresses that explores our cultural fascination with all things bridal.

There’s a brilliant conversation to be had here about sustainability, nostalgia and the stories we attach to clothing. Wedding dresses are some of the most emotionally loaded garments in existence and seeing them given a new life is genuinely moving.

Whether you’re a fashion lover, interested in sustainable design or just curious, this is worth making the trip into Poole town centre for.

Amelia’s Rainbow Spring Pop Up Shop | Mon 9th – Fri 13th March, 10am –4pm

Five whole days of springtime and Easter gifts from Amelia’s Rainbow, a lovely local charity that supports children with serious illnesses, disabilities and life-limiting conditions. Crafts and products are available at up to 75% off RRP and every purchase directly supports families in the Poole area.

Pop in for a bargain and enter the free competition for an Easter goodie bag worth £100. Shopping that actually feels good in every sense.

This is exactly the kind of community event that makes Poole town centre worth visiting. Real people. Real impact. Right on your doorstep.

Greenpeace Outreach Event | Sat 14th March, 10am –4pm

Bournemouth and Poole Greenpeace are dropping into GATHER for a day of quizzes, petition signings, campaign information and arts and crafts activities for children.

Events like this matter because they make big issues feel accessible. When you can talk to someone face to face and bring your kids along, complex topics like climate and environment become conversations rather than headlines. Drop in anytime.

Bloom & Bramble Mother’s Day Floristry | Sun 15th March, 10am –4pm

Looking for something to do in Poole for Mother’s Day? This is genuinely one of the nicest events of the month. Bloom & Bramble invite you to pick your own blooms and create a hand tied bouquet with guidance from a professional florist. It’s open to children and adults and the perfect way to mark the day with something homemade and heartfelt.

Flowers are one of the oldest and most universal ways humans express care for one another. Making something with your own hands for someone you love adds a layer of meaning that a shop bought gift rarely matches. This is a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning in Poole.

BCP Lifeline Awareness Event | Tues 17th March, 10am –3pm

This is a free drop in event from BCP Lifeline and partner organisations, giving you the chance to find out what local support is available for you or a loved one. The team will be in GATHER with equipment demonstrations including the Raizer lifting chair, plus over 18 professional teams covering all age groups.

Access to information is everything. Knowing what support exists before you need it urgently can make an enormous difference. Events like this remove a huge barrier by bringing services directly to people in a relaxed, familiar environment rather than asking people to seek them out.

The first 20 visitors receive a free goodie bag. Free to attend with no booking required.

CHAS Art Exhibition | Thurs 19th – Sat 21st March, 10am –4pm

Canford Heath Arts Society close out the month with three days of wonderful local artwork in GATHER. Paintings, prints and mixed media from artists right here in the Poole area. Cash is welcomed on the day and there’s a cash machine just outside Smiths if you need it.

Local art exhibitions are brilliant for exactly the reason that local shops and markets are brilliant. You’re connecting with people and places you actually know. The work on show reflects this town, these landscapes and these communities.

Free to browse across all three days. A genuinely lovely way to spend an afternoon in Poole town centre.
