2025: A Year of Community at The Dolphin

The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole has had an incredible 2025 and as we wave goodbye to the year, we’re taking a moment to celebrate everything our community achieved together. From heartwarming charity campaigns to vibrant cultural celebrations and exciting new additions to our KINGLAND family, this year proved once again that The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole is so much more than a shopping destination. It’s the beating heart of Poole’s community.

Socktober at The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole: 2,000 Pairs of Socks

October saw our community come together in the most extraordinary way for Socktober, our sock donation drive in partnership with Routes to Roots. What started as a simple campaign to collect warm socks for those experiencing homelessness in Dorset became something truly special.

The generosity of Poole absolutely blew us away. We set ourselves an ambitious target and you smashed right through it, donating an incredible 2,000 pairs of socks. That’s 2,000 pairs of warm feet this winter. 2,000 acts of kindness from our community. 2,000 reasons to be proud of Poole.

Watching the donations pile up throughout the month at The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole reminded us exactly why community campaigns like this matter. Every pair of socks represents someone in our community who cared enough to make a difference.

Day of the Dead Celebrations at The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole

Our Day of the Dead celebrations at the end of October transformed The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole into a riot of colour and culture. GATHER came alive with traditional Mexican festivities and the incredible Loco Lime brought authentic Día de los Muertos spirit right to the heart of Poole.

The mariachi band performances were an absolute highlight, filling the centre with music that had shoppers stopping in their tracks to enjoy the moment. Even our centre manager John got into the spirit, sporting some fantastic Day of the Dead face paint.

Events like this remind us that The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole is a place where cultures come together. The engagement was phenomenal with the Facebook post reaching over 65,000 people and proving just how hungry Poole is for vibrant cultural experiences.

Diwali Festival of Lights at The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole

Earlier in October, GATHER hosted a wonderful Diwali celebration, bringing the Festival of Lights to The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole. The event drew families from across the area and created a warm and inclusive atmosphere that exemplifies everything we love about our community space.

Seeing communities come together to share their traditions is exactly what GATHER was designed for. These aren’t just events. They’re opportunities for Poole to experience the rich diversity of cultures that make our town special.

New KINGLAND Stores at The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole

2025 saw some exciting new additions to KINGLAND, our independent shopping street that continues to grow and evolve. We were thrilled to welcome Simply Bella to the KINGLAND family in October. The announcement reached over 8,000 people on Facebook alone and generated huge excitement from our community.

KINGLAND remains at the heart of what makes The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole different. These aren’t chain stores. They’re independent businesses run by passionate people who bring something unique to Poole. When you shop at KINGLAND, you’re supporting local entrepreneurs and keeping Poole’s high street diverse and interesting.

With over 80 retailers now calling The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole home including beloved high street brands and our growing family of independents, there’s never been a better time to discover what’s new in town.

Community Charity Campaigns at The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole

Package for Milly

November saw The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole partner with two other shopping centres for Package for Milly, a campaign tackling period poverty. Period poverty affects 1 in 10 UK girls and together we worked to make a real difference. The response from our community was overwhelming and demonstrated once again that Poole shows up when it matters.

Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal returned to The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole in October and our community stepped up as always to support this vital cause. The sea of poppies throughout the centre served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom.

Baby Loss Awareness Week

In October, The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole lit up in recognition of Baby Loss Awareness Week. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do as a community is acknowledge difficult experiences and let people know they’re not alone. The response to this campaign showed just how many people this issue touches.

Sensory Sundays at The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole

Our Sensory Sundays initiative continued to grow throughout 2025, providing a calmer shopping experience for those who need it. The October announcement alone reached over 108,000 people, showing just how much demand there is for inclusive shopping experiences at The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole.

We’re committed to making The Dolphin Shopping Centre Poole a welcoming space for everyone and Sensory Sundays is just one way we’re working towards that goal. Find out more about our accessibility features and facilities.
