SUMMARY:Poole in Bloom & Parkstone Gardeners Society - Thursday 5th & Friday 6th March | 10am – 4pm | GATHER
DESCRIPTION:Two of Poole’s biggest gardening organisations are taking over GATHER for two days and it’s going to be a brilliant event for anyone with even a passing interest in plants\, flowers or the great outdoors! \nPoole in Bloom and Parkstone Gardeners Society have joined forces to create a space packed with inspiration\, knowledge and hands on activities. Parkstone Gardeners Society has been a fixture in Poole since 1897 and is currently rebuilding its community after the Covid years\, welcoming gardeners of all levels with monthly meetings covering everything from gardening with arthritis to the art of growing fuchsias. Poole in Bloom run an annual competition each July and have been growing steadily since reviving it in 2019\, with entries up 40% last year alone. \nOver the two days there’s plenty to explore. A sensory table filled with beautifully scented and tactile plants will delight all ages\, and a children’s table gives little ones the chance to pot their very own sunflower seed under supervision and enter the free children’s sunflower competition to take home and watch grow. There will also be a competition display table\, history and information on both societies and a range of reference books with knowledgeable members on hand to answer all your gardening questions. \nThere are also two fantastic free demonstrations running across both days. Showing and growing expert David Bassil will be sharing his knowledge on seed sowing and cuttings at 11am on Thursday and 2pm on Friday. And Jason Edwards\, who spent six years as a florist to the Royal Family before navigating a major stroke\, will be giving a beginner’s guide to hand tied bouquets and ikebana floral arranging while sharing his remarkable story. Jason’s sessions are at 2pm on Thursday and 11am on Friday. \nIf you’re thinking about getting into the garden this spring or want to find out more about what these two wonderful local organisations have to offer\, this is the perfect place to start. Entry is free and everyone is welcome! \n📍 GATHER at The Dolphin\, Poole \n🗓️ Thursday 5th & Friday 6th March \n🕙 10am – 4pm

SUMMARY:ONCE? | Bridal Sustainability Exhibition Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th March | 10am – 4pm | GATHER
DESCRIPTION:Does a wedding dress really only have to be worn once? \nThat’s the question at the heart of ONCE?\, a thought-provoking exhibition by Poole-based designer Gillian Marais of Tailoresque\, coming to GATHER for two days this March. \nThe exhibition explores our collective fascination with all things bridal through a stunning collection of upcycled and reworked wedding dresses. Each piece tells a story of transformation\, taking gowns that might otherwise have been packed away in a box or sent to landfill and giving them a bold new chapter. \nWhether you’re a bride to be\, a lover of sustainable fashion or simply curious about the craftsmanship behind it all\, ONCE? is a beautiful and quietly powerful reminder that the most precious things deserve to be worn again. \nFree to attend and open to all. \n📍 GATHER at The Dolphin\, Poole 🗓️ Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th March 🕙 10am – 4pm \nFor more from Tailoresque visit @tailoresque on Instagram.
